The Local Government Authorised Persons' Association (APA) in partnership with the Dog and Cat Management Board, KelledyJones Lawyers and Norman Waterhouse Lawyers are proud to present the 2020 APA Professional Development Seminar at the Stamford Grand Glenelg on Thursday 11 & Friday 12 June 2020. Wednesday Training Day

We are excited to have CERT back to deliver a Situational Safety and Tactical Communications (SSTC) Masterclass on Wednesday 10 June hosted by the City of West Torrens. This training is essential for authorised persons who are working with the public and teaches officers how to gain improved cooperation under all circumstances. It also teaches how to manage difficult customers using proven techniques that maximise the opportunity for a positive outcome.

Awards 

Each year we hold the annual Authorised Persons' Association Annual Awards. These awards are always a highlight of the seminar as they are an opportunity for management and teammates to recognise and reward the excellent work happening in the regulatory world. The awards are presented at the seminar dinner at the Stamford Grand on the evening of the 9 June 2020.  

The awards to be presented are:
South Australian Animal Management Officer of the Year
New Regulatory Services Officer's Award
Excellence in Regulatory Services 

The award criteria and nomination form can be found here. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 29 May 2020. Take time form your day to reflect on the projects, investigations, and initiatives your team have achieved this year. Do you have a new or experienced team member who continually excels? Please make sure you nominate an officer or team from your Council for an award. In addition to the recognition the winners will receive across the industry there are some great prizes on offer!!

Importantly, many of our previous State winners of the Animal Management Officer of the Year award have gone on to win the National award, which is great promotion for Local Government in South Australia.

Accommodation
