In smaller regional communities, frontline staff often manage repeat interactions and highly personal situations. Maintaining safety, professionalism and authority while preserving positive community relationships can be complex.
This practical two-day workshop, delivered by CERT, equips authorised officers and community-facing staff with structured communication techniques and situational safety strategies designed to support confident and professional engagement in challenging circumstances.
Participants will gain practical tools that can be applied immediately in regional operational settings.
✔ Increased Staff Safety Practical strategies to enhance personal safety while working in community-based and regional environments.
✔ Enhanced Confidence & Effectiveness Build the skills to manage difficult conversations calmly and professionally while achieving compliant outcomes.
✔ Reduced Complaint Escalation Clear, respectful communication reduces misunderstandings and helps prevent formal complaints or reputational risk.
✔ Stronger Community Trust Consistent, safe and professional engagement strengthens public confidence in council services — particularly in close-knit regional areas.
